Learners start by building and spinning a basic top, then swap pieces to compare symmetrical and lopsided designs and see which spins better.
From there, they color the pieces in primary colors and spin fast enough that the eye blends two of them into a secondary color. It connects art and design, English language arts, math, and science and engineering.
