What are Monster Claws? They’re hands-on, playful engineering project powered by pneumatics — a system that uses air to make a claw open, close, pick up, and let go!
This playful engineering bulk project pack has ready-to-build components for learners to make - and keep! It's perfect for groups of up to 25, STEM activity stations, or special events.
It's a perfect 20- to 40-minute screen-free activity for grades 4 and up, with extensions available in our educator guides.
Learners design and build a claw with features that move using a pneumatic system. By experimenting with pistons, cylinders, and air flow, they explore movement, force, and the invisible properties of air. Once built, they have the freedom to enhance their build with additional craft materials to improve their invention, while problem-solving along the way.
