Learners build
A cardboard scrolling screen that plays a learner's own illustrated story.
Learners start by folding the frame, cutting the printed sheet into four scroll strips, and planning a story with a character, a setting, and a first, next, and last.
From there, they draw the sequence on a strip, thread it through the wooden handles, and set the screen on its stand. Extensions include stories one learner starts and another finishes. It connects art and design with English language arts.
